Im trying to get my caliper off my jeep but it doesn't seem to want to come off. Do I need to remove the bolts or just use some force to get it off?

Hi,

Front brake pads and rotors really aren't too hard to do. If you do it yourself, make sure to purchase lifetime parts so you'll never have to pay for the parts again.

You can expect brake pads to last approximately 25,000 miles. However, that can change based on terrain and driving habits.

To start, here is a link that shows in general how it's done. You can use this as a guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-front-brake-pads-and-rotors-fwd

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle. The pics below correlate with the directions.

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Drain small amount of fluid from master cylinder brake reservoir with clean suction gun.

4. Remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts (3).
5. Compress the caliper (4) and remove from the adaptor.
6. Secure caliper (4) to nearby suspension part with wire. Do not allow brake hose to support caliper weight.

7. Remove the inboard (2) and outboard brake pads (3) from the caliper adapter (4).
8. Remove the anti-rattle clips from the brake caliper adapter (4).

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
