I have a 2007 Jeep liberty. while driving down the interstate my serpentine belt comes off. When I stopped a fluid im assuming was power steering because as I was trying to pull over i had none, cam pouring out. What is wrong with my car? Why did it just come off in one piece. It is a brand new belt that the dealership put on 3 months ago

MY THING IS JEEP CJs

DON'T KNOW A LOT ABOUT YOURS

COMMON STUFF:

ALL OF YOUR ACCESSORY PULLEYS SHOULD TURN FREELY--WITH BELT OFF...IF NOT SOMETHING MAY BE SEIZED AND NEED ATTENTION

WATCH THE A/C COMPRESSOR, IT MAY ONLY LOCK UP WHEN IT'S CLUTCH IS ACTIVATED---BELT ON...CAR RUNNING...TURN ON A/C....LOCK????

WHAT EVER TENSIONS YOUR BELT MAY BE LOCKED UP OF MAY SORTA FLOP SIDEWAYS AND NOT KEEP THE BELT IN LINE WITH THE OTHER PULLEYS

I'VE SEEN GRAVEL, STICKS, AND SUCH KICK OFF THE ROAD AND KNOCK BELTS OFF

FLUID MAY HAVE COME OUT, DUE TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP NOT TURNING, WHEN IT LOST BELT DRIVE
