I have not had any gas cap tightening issues. I read lots of posts all over the internet that led me to replace the EVAP valve/solenoid. I used a newer improved version from Amazon. After physically installing it I went to plug the wiring up but it didn't quite match up but I got it to go which may be where the problem is? The light didn't go out but I also noticed that Onstar was no longer working as well. I push the gas and nothing happens then I shut the key off and restart and it goes okay for a while then doe the same thing? Limp mode?

My Yukon has a loss of power when pressing the gass pedal to the floor, while passing someone on the freeway. The truck does not want to go faster than 20-25mph. It behaves as though the engine is flooded. Waiting about five minutes or so will allow the truck to go again whith out a loss of power. This only occurs after wide open throttle. The check engine light comes on and shows the code for mass air flow sensor. I have cleaned sensor and it resolve problem for a short time only. I have replace the fuel pump and am leaning towards cleaning the intake manifold, thottle body and injectors to see if this may be causing some of the problems. Is there a possiblity the fuel pump is malfunctioning?

It has the factory intake with the exception of a tornado that is in the intake hose after the MAF sensor. My biggest problem is the loss of power after wide open throttle. Every time I step on the gas and floor the pedal to pass someone one the freeway, the truck acts as though it is flooded. I have even heard it backfire some. If you let it rest for a while it will begin to run fine with the exception of a check engine light that comes on. Is igt possible that the catalyic converter is too clogged to allow the proper exost flow therefore causing the engine to not properly conbust creating the flooded type condition. I have seen where many have this same problem yet can not figure out why. I will run it with the MAF diconnected to see if the condition continues. Thanks

Recently purchased a used 2005 yukon. Have driven it 3 weeks. The traction assist feature frequently activates when accelerating from a stopped position, even on dry roads. Is this normal? It creates a loss of acceleration power, and this is concerning when turning to cross traffic, for instance. It is possible to turn this feature off, but the ower's maual does not recommend this. Any advice? I can't find any info on this on the internet.

Try this info, The Stability System Disabled message or Stability Not Ready message may be displayed on the DIC (Driver Information Center).

2. Unwanted Stabilitrak activation.

3. The vehicle lighting systems may dim noticeably.

4. The VSES motor may come on unexpectedly.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Check for excessive wear on any of the tires on the vehicle and then verify that all the tires are the same size, brand, and same model. It is also important to check and make sure the tire pressure is properly adjusted per the sticker on the door. The following examples listed below could cause any of the conditions listed above.

1. 2 tires on the vehicle are Goodyear P245/75R16 and the other 2 tires are Firestone P245/75R16

2. 2 Tires on the vehicle are brand new and the other two tires have excessive wear.

3. 2 Tires on the vehicle are Goodyear Wrangler SRA 265/70R17 and 2 tires are Goodyear Wrangler HP 265/70R17 (Same brand/different models)

4. Aftermarket Wheels and Tires (NON-OEM 20 inch wheels and tires)

5. Tire pressure is not properly adjusted.

Check this first and post back with what you find.

All tires are new, installed at time of sale, by the dealer. They appear to be the same size, all are the same make. The car notification center says "traction active" when this happens. It results in a loss of power, and the car almost appears to shift into neutral.

I watched a video that you posted on YouTube about replacing the ebcm. I followed and did everything and was able to install my re-manufactured unit with no problem. However, when I test drove my truck, it kept saying traction active when I try to accelerate and won't accelerate again until I stop and I have to turn off my traction control in order for it to run again. My question is, does the unit have to be re-programmed to work properly? I called and ask my dealer for the part number and I also gave them my vin number. Is it also possible that I have a defective unit. Thanks in advance. Richard.

Have a local pro scan it a dealer doesn't need to. It will probably have to be programmed so traction control and anti lock are together because anti lock effects traction control.

My truck doesn't have the power it used to. I have it serviced every 3000 miles and the fuel filter has been changed recently. I notice it the mostly on a steep hill when you notice the decrease in power.
Also it is really bad when pulling are boat 21' sea ray.
It seems to be harder every year. Even lighter loads are notice able. The exhaust system is original. I notice a rattle in the back underneath when the truck is first started. The exhaust doesn't sound load though.
What can you tell me.

First check the exhaust for blockage, if you need to know how post back and ask and I will gladly tell you the procedure.

And also I would like you to change the MAF sensor.

You press down on gas pedal, it bogs down and sputters when under a load ( incline ). Is this a fuel filter problem? If so where on the truck is it located?

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, bogging etc. Could be caused by one of the following below.

Inspect and test all the following listed below and get back with some results

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

Have a 2004 GMC Yukon. When accelerating from a stop, sometimes there is a pause (no power) of about 1-2 sec. When it should be going 1st to 2nd gear, not sure what is causing this power interruption at low gear. Doesn't occur at any other time. First time trying this website out, if it works out and I get the problem solved Then I would be glad to make a donation and use it again in the future. Thanks!

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first auto parts rent gauge. Clean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner.
