2007 Chevrolet Malibu Please Help

My car will not shift in the the third gear it get to 40mph if I try to make it go faster the engine reves. It also will not let me manually shift it in to 3 gear. There is no check engien light but it was on before this problem and I was told the throttle body was going bad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

This could be a input or output speed sensor issue, or a bad tpms sensor, or a internal trans issue. You would be much better off to have it diagnosed by a pro, because there are very specific tools and procedures that are required to diag this type of issue.
