What are the steps to change the oil pan gasket.

What are the steps to change the oil pan gasket on a 2007 Chevy impala ltz. I have already started and have found info online but it is very general and does not help me with the impala. Please help, I'm a single father and could not afford to put my car in the shop. I have a friend how is fairly skilled as so am I. But we are not stuck an I'm with out a car.

It is the 3.9. We finally got it replaced. Everything was fine until this morning. I was driving and now the stop engine oil pressure low light keeps coming on and off. It will not stay on for more than 2 or 3 seconds. Checked oil and level is good. Could this be the oil pressure sensor because oil is all over everything underneath the car?

Not really but clean it off andsee if it cures it. Why did you pull the pan off in the first place? Is oil pressure low?Manually check it if it is. You might have apiece of junk in oil presserure sender too.

We pulled it because it was torn and leaking in the front left corner of the oil pan.
