2007 Chevrolet Impala Cracking noise under hood

The impala will crank but when I put it in reverse or drive it makes a cracking noise like trash under the hood n when I try to accelerate the car kirks and make cracking and popping noises

Have you checked under the hood to see if you could locate aprox where the noise is coming from?

Yea it sounds like it is by the transmission it sounds like a bunch of cracking n popping when u try n drive then it shuts off

I hate to say it, but without hearing it, I'm not sure what to tell you. I really think a mechanic with a trained ear would be able to identify the noise if he / she heard it.

Is there anyway you could video the noise and upload it to youtube for me to hear?
