Radio will not turn on. I can eject CDs and nav. Disk but nothing comes on. Get a brief flicker of the button back light when you push the power on. Only other thing I can tell you is the battery died for the interior lights being on and after jump starting this has started. I have checked the under hood fuses and the ones in the left end panel of dash. Any thoughts?

Try first disconnecting the battery, and shorting the cables together to discharge power completely, and then reconnect. Possible logic fault due to the low voltage.

Hello and thanks for donating

Did all of these components fail at the same time? Check the basics first (fuses, relays and wiring). If all is OK and they all failed at once most likely it is a computer issue. Let me know how the basics check out first.

I have the exact same problem. It is very weird. I can hit the unlock button and sometimes that triggers the radio, wipers, and windows to start working again. I have checked the relays and fuses. So, where do/can I go from here?

When the outside climate is warm the power windows, radio and windshild wipers do not work. Is there a relay or something that all three are conected to. Sometimes a vibration they will come on but when trying to use them they go off again.
Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
Brad

We have seen this before and have come to find thqat the ignition switch is burnt out on that ignition output part of the switch, try fiddling with the switch in acc and in run and see if they come on, if they do replace the ignition switch. Also check the fuses for power when the key is on and if no power then replace the ignition switch.

I have been having a problem and I can't find the answer. My 1999 Escalade will at randowm lose power to the radio, electric windows and most of all windshield wipers. It does not do it daily just at random. I have replaced the electrical portion of the Ignition switch in the last week. On Sunday driving to church the same thing happened again. I also happened leaving church.

According to my friend who helped me with the electrical portion of the ignition switch, that is the only thing that ties in schematically to all three power sources. I need help quickly. Surely somebody else has had this problem before.

Thanks
Forrest

Anoher possibility that could tie them all together is, they all go through the instrument panel fuse block. Make sure the connections at the rear of this panel are complete, and fully locked. In fact, disengage and engage them a couple times and see what happens.

If it was a fuse problem, it would be less than likely intermittent, I spoke of the connections in the rear of the fuse block. If you have a faulty connection or terminal, that could be intermittent in nature.

I don't understand the 'cross wiring' aspect. If you wire in an aftermarket stereo and it plays, you could have a faulty radio producing no audio outputs to the amplifier. A faulty amplifier would also be suspect, but if changing a stereo causes audio, it confirms the amplifier is functional. The amplifier is powered by the cigar lighter fuse in the i/p fuse block, that is worth a check as well.

Check fuse 41 under hood if that is good see if a local garage can reprogram your radio otherwise a dealer will have to do it. It is doing this because the guy replaced it with another radio system.
