I have attached a pic of what you should be dealing with. There is a belt tensioner that will need turned to install the new belt. What to do is rout the belt so it is properly routed to each pulley. Once you do that, release the tension from the automatic tensioner and push the belt over the final pulley. On this engine, it is easiest to remove the air filter box and the inner fender on the passenger side. The inner fender will provide better access to the crank shaft pulley to help you get it started.

Do I need a special tool to release tension? I couldn't get my 3/8 ratchet in there to the tension so what I did I put a piece of wire in there and tie it and then I pull up on the wire with a pipe and push the belt on was that ok to do it that way?
