Engine will not turn over?

My 2006 Sierra 1500 (gas) has done this to me twice since I purchased it new 5 years ago. I go out to start the truck and absolutely nothing happens when I turn the key. I retry starting in neutral and attempt other fixes, but nothing happens -- no clicking, not a sign of trying to turn over. Then I'll go out to the truck later in the day and it starts right up like it never had an issue? Of course, when I take it to the dealer, everything is working fine and they cannot duplicate the problem. Any ideas? Many thanks!

Hello,

It sounds like an intermittent issue with the ignition switch.
The ignition switch is the electrical component that connect the lock cylinder.
It have several connectors and pins and they can wear off overtime or become loose which can trigger the no start.
When this happens you will not get any power to the starter and it will not make any sound.
Sometimes it will start after cycling the key few times.
