I have a wrecked 2006 Ford Freestyle and I plan to buy another 2006 Ford Freestyle that needs a transmission and I want to take the transmission in my wrecked freestyle and put it in the car that I plan on buying. I have read about how mysterious the CVT transmissions are but I loved my freestyle before it was involved in an accident and I never had any problems with it. My question is, is it going to be any more complicated changing out one CVT transmission to another, such as transmission computer codes, or bolting patterns

long as it has a cvt in the one you are going to put it in otherwise you may have to have the newer vehicle reprogrammed if possible. CVT is a new style trans so not much has or is known about it. even the repair guys.
