A 4.6 doesn't have a idle speed motor that year but a electronic throttle body. The TPS sensors were known for causing issues as well as Ford had a fix that once the original battery was changed or disconnected, low idle would result with Ford wanting techs to update the engine computer for this. I would look at cleaning the throttle body also

That is correct. Chances are computer updates are needed.
