2006 Ford E-Series Van Fuel line quick connect

2006 FORD E-SERIES VAN

I took the fuel filter out improperly & damaged the retainer. I can not find new retainers so can I replace the connect with a different one. Or can I splice & clamp on a different line.
Any advice is appreciated
