My 2006 Durango 5.7 slt started to have the Transfer case engage by its self. At first it would do when I would start the vehicle (I'd see the svc 4wd and the 4lo light up). Now it has started to engage just by using my key less entry on my key fob. You can actually hear the transfer case locking up. I'm at a loss, the mechanic I took it to says replacing the transfer case motor will fix the problem, but I don't understand how the key less entry could be tied together to the transfer case motor. Any info you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I took it to a shop that specializes in dodge vehicles and they read the power train code for the svc 4wd light and thats what they said the code said. Is it a normal thing for the vehicle to automatically engage in 4wd like that with the use of keyless entry. I have seen on a few other forums wheee people have had similar problems, but I havent been able to find a definite solution. I apologize for not mentioning that I already had the power train codes read. I spent $300.00 on getting the car diagnosed, and I just to make sure what the mechanic told me is sound advice. Thanks again for your time
