Alarm issues

I am the only owner of the vehicle and it is used very minimally. It only has a little over 73,000 miles on it. All of a sudden the alarm has started to go off when no one is around and the display says "trunk ajar" even after I have reopened it and closed it. Is this a known issue and what can I do to fix it? I have already tried unhooking and re-hooking up the battery to see if it will reset itself and it has no affect.

That sounds like the trunk switch in the latch or a wire to it is broken. Even though the trunk is closed the alarm and BCM thinks it is not because of the bad signal.

Looking at the wiring suggests you can test the orange/black wire to see if it is broken or the latch switch is.
