Problem with heated seats

I'm getting a "burning" smell when I turn on the heated seat on either the driver or passenger side of my 2006 Cadillac DTS. The seats have cooling or heating.

Do the heating and cooling features function, or have they gone inoperative. Check the connections to the seat climate control module under the passenger seat. The larger connector has had some issues with connections and resistance builds, causing terminal and connector damage.
