Good day, Please can you assist me, is it possible for battery acid to burn wires, if the battery is not leaking? and how does that affect the alternator?

if the cables or terminals are loose it could burn the wires as it would make more heat and it would effect the altrenator for bad contact and possibly burnit up or make it fail. Acid usually will eat through stuff after lyingon a piece of cloth then water hitting it. plastic isn't effected to much by battery acid.
