Hello all.i am a new be here so take it easy.
I got a 05 passat eng code Awx.in today the customer said her parking assist control unit is after giving up working.
I found a blown fuse and replaced it only to find the park assist unit is stuck on with the reversing lighs,
I checked the live data and codes, codes are
Address 76: Park Assist Labels: 3B0-919-283.lbl
Part No: 3B0 919 283
Component: Parkingsyst. PA RDW D01
Coding: 00104
Shop #: WSC 05314
VCID: E5CB09AC7F7A671
1 Fault Found:
01546 - Sensor for Parking Aid; Rear Mid-Left (G204)
37-00 - Faulty
The live data shows that the control unit thinks the car is in reverse gear when its not.
I checked the wiring to the reversing switch on the gear box.alls good no broken wires or open short in the wiring, the switch has good continuity in reverse. and the continuity goes when any other gear is selected,
I know the park assist module is told the car is in reverse through the can wiring but i dont know what module tells it this or where the can wires goes to from the p assist module!!

Do any one have any ideas PLEASE?

Thanks for your time,

F125 (Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch) looks like is the only
input to the Park Aid Module.

Disconnect blue/red wire at module and see if it still thinks it's in reverse:
