What does error code P2219 mean?

I failed car inspection due to my check engine light being on. Purchased a code reader and code P2219 popped up. I looked up code and Internet says, "NOx sensor heater control circuit low bank 2". Could not locate code in my car manual. What does this mean and how do I fix the problem?

Are you sure its a P2119 I found that code but not the P2219 im my mitchel ondemand online repair manual. Even the code description you found doesnt make sense the 4cyl engine only has one bank. Also there is no heated nox sensor on that engine.

I triple checked. The code that pops up is P2219. Maybe my code reader is not functioning properly. I just bought it too. I will plug in tomorrow and see if the same code pops up. If it does then I will take it to AutoZone since they don't charge for code readings.

I thought at first the code reader was not functioning properly. I reset using my code reader and unplugged my car battery. The check engine light was still on when I started it in my driveway. I went out today to run some errands and noticed the check engine light was gone; yeah but when I put my car in auxiliary mode the check engine is on then I start my car and about 10 seconds later the light turns off. I used the code reader in a shopping mall parking lot and the reader did not display any codes; P2219 is now gone. I am assuming there was a glitch but am unsure if I will pass car inspection since my check engine is on in auxiliary mode.

What do you mean aux mode? You will have to relearn your emission monitors since you unhooked the battery and cleared codes before it will pass smog.

Not sure of what the mode is called. It's when you turn your key and your radio is on and lights BUT the engine is not turned on. First turn of the key. Hope this makes sense.

Its working normal with the key in on position the check engine light will be on the when you start it it will turn off. You still have to relearn the emission monitors before it will pass smog.
