2005 nissan altima 3.5SE will not go in Drive gear but reverse
cut car off. Then car started up.
It ran for 3 minutes showing the brake light and battery light then completely died. It started
up when jumped for 3 minutes then died. What is going on?

It sounds like you have a dead battery or bad alternator. Fully charge the battery and have it load tested. Most parts stores will do it for free. Next, have the alternator checked. Again, most parts stores will do it for free. Something tells me the alternator is bad and not providing the power to keep the engine running.
