Car will turn on it start in drive

Have a Mercedes 2005 c230 and when I turn it on the car will turn on it start on drive on the panel, not on park. When I go to shift the gear it works but when I start to drive it, it start to accelerate and the speed will not accelerate only until 20-."

Have it scanned for codes and verify the shifter linkage is properly adjusted.

Could be a problem within the electrohydraulic control unit have it checked by the dealership and also try having the computer scanned for code/s
