My 2005 jeep wrangler 2.4L had a loose vacuum hose leading into my intake manifold. After reattaching the hose it began to idle rough when sitting in neutral, and when rolling over 15 mph in neutral it drops to 500rpm then surges up to 1250rpm repeatedly. After removing the hose the problem goes away. Any ideas? **PLEASE HELP**

Wht happens when you disconnect the hose is the computer sees a vacuum leak and richens the mixture. Check for any hose that has a hole in it or not connected properly. Then take the duct off the throttle body and clean the plate on both sides as well as the hole for the IDLE AIR CONTROL. It usually is an oblong hole. Use choke cleaner for this and do it while the engine is off. It may be hard to start after doing this but it should. Put the air duct on after cleaning so the maf will work right. You might have a bad IAC but you'll need to scan the engine to see if anything is wrong.
