I have changed the thermostat, thought it was sticking. Car has taken two weeks to before coolant being pressurised out from expansion tank. Am thinking an o' ring internal has failed or possibly intermittent problem with water pump

If the coolant is blowing out the expansion tank, it sounds like a bad head gasket.

Believe there could be air pockets blocked in the system, but surely these would pass through and out whilt driving last two weeks. No oil in water or dip stick as there would be if head gasket blown. Will be checking water pump tomorrow

Have now checked water pump, seems is working ok, have little water flow though through system, am changing thermo housing cap which doubles as radiator cap tomorrow. Another symptom these last two weeks has been no power in acceleration, car stutters when attempting to accelerate hard. Is this a related problem. Catalytic converter maybe
