I need to have my ignition switch replaced, and it is going to cost over $1000 at the dealer. The switch comes with two new keys (which I kind of need). If I have new keys for the ignition, they need to change the keys for the doors, tailgate, and glove box as well in order for me to use the new keys in those places. So, for over $1000, I can be where I was before my ignition let go - - that being with two keys that work everywhere in the car.

My question is simple. Is it possible to install an 'ignition button' of some kind so I don't need to use a key at all. Or perhaps some kind of electronic module that replaces the ignition, and tells the vehicle systems it is OK to engage. Does such a solution exist?

No, it does not. It has a chip and is computer controlled.

Sorry
