2005 Ford Expedition Humming sound?

When my car is in Park and neutral it makes a high pitched humming sound almost like a turbine. It also pops into reverse and doesn't shift as timely as it used to. The sound only arises when in those two gears and the popping into gear is only with the reverse. Any ideas and should I be driving it?

It could be the front pump if it sounds like a spinning ratchet

Have your ujoints checked as well as center dupport bearing and trans mount or motor mounts. For the popping noise. For the humming, spray water on belt if noise goes away then replace your belt and tensioner.
