After starting car, and after having the heat.

After starting car, and after having the heat on, after I turn it off, it makes a hum sound and then something behind the glove compartment, pops ( several times) and them stops. What could it be? Someone said maybe the fan, then someone else said something about a door. I am lost. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
