The car will turn over, has gas but wont start, what could be the problem?

The fuel pump of pump relay might be bad. Try having someone stand near the gas tank on fuel pump side and have someone else turn the key to the, "RUN"position. You should hear a whirring noise coming from the gas tank which is the system priming. If you don't replace the pump relay and if that does not work then the pump needs replacement.
