We are looking to buy a RWD 2005 Dodge Dakota. Would that truck be very good in the snow or would we need to buy snow tires?

We are in Idaho is it a bad idea to buy a rear wheel drive truck to go in snow and off road sometimes?

Well 2wd is really not known for being an off road vehicle. Those are mostly 4X4 for that. How much snow doyou get feet or inches? It depends. Where I am in the city most of t he time I can get around but rarely do I go offroading I have a 2wd pickup as well. But here when we get dumped with snow it's usually inches not feet.

We sometimes get a few inches in town or we go to a ski resort to go skiing sometimes the road could be covered in snow or go to our cabin sometimes the road could have 4-5 inches of snow on it.
