The horn on my 2005 PT Cruiser keeps sounding at random times and only stops when I push on the steering column. Is this something I can repair on my own or at least disconnect the horn until I can take it to a mechanic if not. I don't want my battery to die or for it to go off in the middle of the night.

Thank you.

If you pull the horn fuse in diagram, that should kill the horn. My concern would be toward the ground wire for coil side of horn relay. The wiring that goes up into the steering column for the horn is a ground. Also your keyless entry can ground that wire.

Any work on the steering wheel or steering column, be sure to disarm the air bag first, you don't want it to blow up in your face. Safety is your responsibility.
