What made my car beep like a car alarm when I shut off the car?

When I turned off my key (with key still in ignition) my car started beeping like a car alarm. I restarted my car and then turned it back off and it stopped, but. Why did this happen?

We may never know! These complex engine management systems do have glitches, it may have been as simple as static electricity, or the key sense part of your ignition mishandled the key removal. Time for worry is when it happens regularly, this would also make it easier too track it down.
