Impala 2005 starts acting up when you reach 40-50 mph. Rpms fluter up and down gas pedal to. If you slow down or speed up it goes own. Check engine light code says coolant sensor or thermostat.I replaced thermostat and light went off.

You have a known problem with the coolant temp sensor. It's a pretty generic code so it's not telling you specifically what the issue is but it controls fuel mixture so it's very important to get to the bottom of the problem. You may need a scan tool to determine what the computer is seeing for temp that is causing it to set the code.

Sorry that was wrong code.I have misplaced the code number. The 3 possible causes where low coolant, coolant temp sensor, thermostat. How can I have it rechecked if check engine light went out?

As long as it wasn't deleted, it will still be there.
