Load noise coming from underneath engin right in front what is wrong?

Noise started suddenly for my wife she said it started by sounding like a card in the spokes of a bike but now it sounds rough with a chipping/ squel sound even when idel not moving. Car shows no other symptoms. Its the loudest under the engin.

Check the serp belt to see if it is coming apart and slapping engine components. Let me know what you find.

Double check the belt to make sure coolant or other fluids are not getting on it. If it does it when the car is parked and running and the belt isn't an issue, you will need to check if the noise if coming from the transmission or the engine to be sure what to check next.
