Tailgate won't open

My 2005 chevy colorado LS tailgate won't open, latch does nothing, how do I fix?

Hello,

One of the control rods has fallen off and it is not releasing the latch so you need to pull them both manually to see what's going on here are diagrams to help you see what to do (Below)
