Motor ran hot and messed up the head, got the head replaced, also replaced temp sensor, map sensor, fuel pressure reg, tps, iac, and spark plugs, and it will not idle, and if by chance it decides to it fluct. Bad under 1000 rpms and then goes dead, other than that it runs great, can you please help, oh yea this engine does not have an egr valve.

Did you have the head shaved? (Thisis done to make sure it the mating surface between thehead and block are level, so as not to lose compression, water or oil.

If the check engine light is on, have the codes read and post them here for more help.

Yea took the replacment head to the machine shop and it was cleaned and checked, valve job and surfaced. Check engine light not on while running

Check for a vacuum leak and check to see if the throttle body is dirty (including the Idle Air Control solenoid (IAC). Clean them with carb/choke cleaner if necessary.

Do you think it may be the down stream o2 sensor causing the problem, because after ir ran hot the car sat for six to eight months before it was repaired, and when it was cranked up after repairs it steamed out the tailpipe for about 20 minutes and then cleared up, so I know the converter and muffler had to be full of water
