Smell of gas inside the car

Earlier this fall my wife put premium shell gas in our 2004 kia spectra. After a week check engine light went on. And then after another week it went off. Since winter started whenever I start the car it smells of gasoline inside till it warms up. What might be the cause?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
