Wont engage 4wd, hear click from transfer case. Had in shop, replaced front axle shift fork and motor assy. Vehicle was warm pulled out of shop and 4wd engaged, worked on and off for about 30 mins. Now inop again when left out in the cold, wisconsin weather! Could t-case shift motor be broken or hanging up?

Try this;I found excess cold/hard grease from front wheel bearings impedeing four wheel drive engaging. It will engage eventully when warmed up by driving 5 miles or so. Remove front wheel, unscrew the retaining bolts(6) and dust cap, unscrew the retaining screws(3) and remove. Clean excess grease off all parts reassemble.
