Interior problem
2003 Ford Explorer V6 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 58000 miles

I noticed last week that my drivers side seat heater was not working, I checked the fuse already, I checked the wiring to the seat, and I checked the switch to see if it was jammed.

The indicator light goes on when I hit the switch but no hot seat and with it being December its getting a bit cold in the morning!

Any insight into what it maybe, bad switch, loose wire, etc.

Thanks
Richard

I have the eddie Bauer edition with leather and heated seats. When I push either button to turn the heated seats on(located on the left and right of the drivers and passenger seats respectively) the light on the center display that indicates heated seat is on flashes on and immediately back off. If I try a second time it doesnt even flash on.

It sound like the heated seat module has an issue, but in order to test it the airbag system has to be deactivated. Theres special tools made by ford to bypass the airbags during testing. Id caution you to have the codes read and have it safely diagnosed at ford. Those two seats share one heater control module

Is it something I could replace or would I need a dealer?

You can replace it. The only thing the dealer is neede for is the safe testing of the module. The special tools bypass the airbags. If you just want to replace them, just unhook the neg side of your battery for about 15 mins and then youre safe, they wont go off. The module is located in the drivers seat. I don't have a diagram to show you, but ford might get you one if you go to the parts department and ask for a drivers seat parts blowup printout
