2004 Envoy xuv the rear tail gate

I have a 2004 GMC envoy XUV. When I mash the pressure switch handle for the tail gate to go down it will not do nothing? The other pressure switch handle that opens the fine. But I can not get the tail gate to release and open? What do I need to get for it or do? Everything back their works fine but that. Thanks Lee please let me known?

Have a pro scan for codes see if it's a module problem

The scanner plugs in t o the aldl and if you don't have a pro scanner that garages use you won't read a thing. Autoparts scanners can't read module problems other than engine/transmission
