What will cause abrand new battery to completly die after about 3hrs of running its happened 2 times I have a2004 intrepid w 2.7

Sound's like a charging system problem have you had your alternator tested?If not go have it tested let me know what you find.

Had alternator tested, tested good, checked starter (good) replaced cam and crank sensors, could it be that there is no ground to starter

The starter ground's thru the engine block it bolt's to that's why you don't see a ground wire. So does the battery die while the engine is running?Or while the engine is turned off and sitting?

It dies while running then it will start again 3or 4 times then it will die completely, thank you for responding

If it dies while driving then there has to be a charging issue some how. Maybe when thing's get hot after running a while You will need to test the alternator when the battery start's dieing. Do you have a multimeter to test the charging output at the battery when the battery start's dieing.

tested the batery.12.4 at the output right now the piece of crap will not start new bat as soon as I turn the key there is no load I feel as though it is the voltage regulator but I do not know its location ive checked wires and fuses im about to give up

So if you charge the battery and start the car while idling and check the voltage at the battery it only reads 12.4 volt's?
