What had happened it got hot then we let it cool off for a day then next time drove it again ran hot again got that stopped and then I went to drive it and nothing. When you put it in reverse it will take it just not drive. There is a plug underneath the heater core and it was full of water what is that plug? What do I need to do?

Sounds like a trans issue that has failed front clutch.

The drain you see is for the ac drain when te evap sweats water.
