Where is the evap vent solenoid located on a 2004 chevy monte carlo ss? Looking for picture or diagram.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent valve electrical connector (1).
Remove the EVAP vent valve bracket bolt.
Remove the vent hose (4) from the EVAP vent valve.
Remove the EVAP vent valve from the bracket (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Install the EVAP vent valve to the bracket (2).
Install the vent hose (4) to the EVAP vent valve.
Install the EVAP vent valve and the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the EVAP vent valve bracket bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.M (89 lb in).

Connect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (1).
Lower the vehicle.

Emissions (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid (3.8L VIN K) is on top front of engine, near center of upper intake plenum. Here is a picture.

Hey, SCARMECH

Remove the valve and then use two wires with a pigtail clips onto a battery 12 volt source. Next, touch the wires to the terminals inside the solenoid, you should hear a click which tells you it is working.

It's a valve not a sensor. It's by the gas tank and cannister purge. It 's got a red connection and red valve so it's easy to see. BUt if you left your gas tank loose after getting fuel it sets the same code
the gas cap has to click 3 times to fully seat.
