I HAVE A CHEVY SS IT THROUGH A CODE FOR THE "SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM" NOW A BUDDY OF MINE SAID THIS IS MOST LIKELY AN O2 SENSOR. DOES THIS SOUND ACCURATE OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE?

No it's not right. There is a solenoid on teh top of the engine if a 3.4L or rh rear exasut manifold if a 3.8L. It injects air into the exaust system.

Its the 3.8 V6. How important is this, should I go and get it fixed immediately or can it wait a few weeks. And if you could be a little bit more specific on what you think the problem is?

Ineed the code to see what it is that's wrong, but check for hoses off or disconected or holes in tehm first. It can probably wait a little whle but your gas mileage may go to hell.

I believe its p0410. I haven't really noticed to much of a difference in gas mileage thank god. But I will check the hoses
