I have a 04 escalade. I was driving it when all the lights on the dash came on. I shut off the truck and it would not restart. I put a new starter in it and now when I try to hook up the battery the truck tries to start. I also have a remote starter in it witch I disconected. Not sure what to do now. Still doing the same thing.

Disconnect the small lead from the solenoid, with the battery disconnected of course, and reconnect the battery. If it still tries to crank you have a faulty starter(shorted solenoid). If it does not, you have an issue that is firing a signal to engage the starter.
