My boyfriend was just checking fluids on my car, and he said the transmission dip stick was bone dry. It wasn't riding rough or slipping. He added transmission fluid for this car and no sooner after it started like it didn't want to go. I had it in drive and while driving it, it just stopped. No longer would go into any gear. I had it towed to a local shop a mechanic I know, and he said there was not any transmission fluid in the car. He added 8 bottles of it. I could not believe it. It finally showed full. I then had to drive it starting out in 1st then while driving put in 2nd then to 3rd. It drives perfectly wants I get it to 3rd. No longer can I just put it in drive. Now I can only drive it manually. 1st, 2nd then 3rd. Today I left and drove it started out in 1st then 2nd and then 3rd was driving fine until I came to a red light and had to stop. I then put it in 1st to go through the light and it would not go. I shut the car off for 2 to 3 minutes and it started to drive again, and I did my normal driving. Now I have to shut it off at every stop. I have to put it in 2nd to turn corners hoping it will continue to drive so that I can put I right into 3rd
Ever since we added transmission fluid everything is now doing this. What do you suggest this problem is? It is completely full now and I have to turn it off at every stop or it won't go. Do I need a new transmission or do you think it's the pcs. Power control sensor. I did not have him do a reading yet. Please help. I already replaced the fuel pump, front and back brakes, new bearings on back tire on passenger side. It's a good running car once I am on the highway driving in 3rd. Also, today for the first time while in 3rd it just stops going when I put on the gas. I had to pull over turn it off and start over again with 1st, 2nd then 3rd. My 2vehicle listed above had been so great until I added fluid because it was bone dry. Please help.

This sounds like the input shaft speed sensor is not working correctly. Can I ask if the speedometer is working okay? We should run the codes to see if any are stored. This guide can help:

This guide may help as well:

Also, if it has not been done, I would change the filter out and refill with new fluid, I assume the leak is fixed? If so, what was the problem? Here is how to change the input shaft speed sensor out. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
