What is the best way to remove the starter- 2004 Audi Allroad (A6) with 2.7T? Bentley manual says to remove the nose/ radiator assembly, etc. Then remove alternator before removing starter. I have removed the nose, etc on an A4 to replace timing belt. I am hoping to avoid this on the Allroad if possible.

I spoke with an Audi shop and they said it can be removed by removing part of the sub frame. What is the best method to use? Can you point me to a well written procedure on this?

thanks

Thank you for the reply. Perhaps I didn't ask the right question. The alternator has to be removed before removing the starter. So how is the alternator removed?

Thank you
