2003 Volkswagen Jetta shifter

When I put the car in drive I have to wiggle it to lock in is this a serious issue? If so whats the cost to fix it?

Ok there is a couple of recalls on the 03 Jetta's that may have something to do with this. So first get in touch with a local vw dealer and have them run your vin number and make sure there is no open recall campaign on your car. Recall's are free fixes so lets start there, let me know what you find ok.
