Im replacing passenger side cv axle on a 2003 vw beetle 1.8 turbo 6 speed automatic. The 6 speed standard is bolted to the trans. The 6 speed auto is held in by
a internal circlip. How do I compress the circlip to remove the axle. Thankyou. Desperate.

It is a snap fit. Use a large screw driver / pry bar to pop the shaft out.

Clip does not need compressing. As exovds said, you just need to pry the axle out of the transmission with a large screwdriver or pry bar.
