I have a 2003 VW Beetle. And I have put about $3,000 in repairs into it in the past year and a half. It's back in the shop and now needs two new sensors (coolant and nok), something like an evaporation purge filanode and valve, new bearings, needs the sunroof frame replaced and two new tires. I'm at my wits end and feeling like it might be a better option to get a newer car instead of continuing to invest so much money when I could be paying a lease on a newer car. This trip alone is going to cost me about $2000. What is your advice?

Look at what you have invested, the book value (KBB. Com) and determine if you can get close to your money out of it. It sounds like your car may be lemon and could always have issues. It may be a good time to get rid of it.
