2003 Toyota Yaris Recently Changed Stop Tail Light Now Dashboard Light

I recently changed the stop/tail light, now the dashboard light and the headlight indicator on the panel lights on when I brake. ever since I bought the car, one of the stop/tail light has not worked so I dont know if this is mean to be like this.
