One of the rear shock absorbers is leaking and needs replacing. The other is fine with no leak. I am being told I must replace both together. Is this necessary? Or just better?

You don't just replace one shock they must be done in pair for SAFETY and ride ability.

Thanks. I do basically trust my garage, but it seemed very odd.
