2003 Toyota Corolla Key ignition wont turn

How can I get the steering wheel to unlock? Already tried turning the wheel left and right as much as I can while turning the key in the ignition. Also, I tried turning it all the way to right and turning the key. NOTHING seems to unlock the steering wheel.

There is a lock controlled by the ignition switch whether mechanical or electric. So you need to determine if the lock is unlocking when the ignition key is inserted in the lock cylinder and locking when the key is removed. To do this you'll need to remove the steering column cover halfs (upper and lower). Try this and get back to me, TY
